New Delhi 26th Oct. 2020: The inaugural program of a six day workshop (from 26th Oct. to 31st Oct.2020) on the theme ‘preparation of Urdu textbooks for primary level’ was organized jointly by the Markazi Taleemi Board, JIH and APDUMT, JMI at Markaz Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.


The inaugural session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Shafiq Alam Nadvi. Maulana Inamullah Falahi, Coordinator, Markazi Board of Education gave an introductory speech about the workshop.
Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, director, MTB highlighted the importance of textbooks in his presidential speech. He pointed out the important points in the preparation of primary level books in the context of the NEP-2020. He said that there is a great importance of Language Lab for the preparation of books on languages. Referring to the policy, he also said that, “the use of ICT has now become the need of the hour. “Without the use of Information and communication technology (ICT), young minds cannot fulfill the demands of present life,” he added.


The chief guest, Prof. Ahmed Mahfooz, Honorary Director of the Academy of Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers (APDUMT),JMI said in his speech that the minds of the children are like plain paper and whatever is written on it lasts for long. He further said that the books should give knowledge, moral education to children and be helpful for their overall personality development.

Teachers (APDUMT),JMI emphasized that, “we should focus on the fact that these books should not just become a means of imparting knowledge to children but also promote healthy values among them.”
He also elaborately highlighted on the methodology of textbooks.
Dr. Hina Aafreen, program coordinator, said that the purpose of education is not solely getting certificates. Attaining education and developing moral values both are equally important for students to become a good human being and play a positive role in nation building.
