Mohammad Ashfaq Ahmed was a distinguished figure in the field of education and a devoted member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. Born and raised in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, he began his journey of service at a young age, becoming a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and playing a crucial role as a founding member of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO). He was later elected as the second National President of SIO.
Ashfaq Ahmed dedicated 26 years of his life as the Secretary for Education at Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, where he was instrumental in revising school textbooks published by Markazi Maktaba Islami, organizing educational training camps, and preparing a team of resource persons for these camps. His commitment to educational excellence extended to his role as the founder and president of Al-Hira Education and Welfare Society in Aurangabad. He was also a member of the Majlis-e-Shoora of Jamiatul Falah, Azamgarh, and its Majlis-e-Taaleemi.
Throughout his life, Ashfaq Ahmed remained steadfast in his principles, even resigning from a principalship when pressured to sign a fake voucher. His dedication to integrity and education left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He passed away on October 20, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving behind his wife, two daughters, and a legacy of commitment to Islamic education.
