Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises was set up in the year 2000 with a vision, ‘To help underprivileged children and youth of our country realize their potential.’ The Foundation works in the space of holistic quality education in rural India with a special focus on the girl child; and also supports Higher Education programs in partnership with premier institutions. Since 2006, the flagship, Satya Bharti School Program has been providing free quality education to thousands of underprivileged children in 164 schools in rural India across four states.
At present nearly 36,000 children are enrolled in Satya Bharti Schools of which over 50% are girl students. The impact of quality education has been widened by transferring the learning and good practices of this program to more than 3.7 lakh students studying in 888 partnering government schools across 12 States/UTs, through Quality Support Program (QSP), since 2013.
In addition, Bharti Airtel Foundation was invited by several education officers at district and state level to scale up some of the initiatives through QSP State Partnerships. The Foundation has been able to impact over 3 million children in a meaningful manner through its education programs since inception.
Bharti Airtel Scholarship
Bharti Airtel Foundation aims to support deserving students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds with a focus on girl students, to become future technology leaders. To achieve this goal, a merit-cum-means based scholarship program has been designed for students enrolled in technology based engineering undergraduate (UG) courses and 5-year integrated programs (as per the eligibility criteria) in the top 50 NIRF Engineering institutes including IITs. The students receiving the scholarship shall be called Bharti Scholars. The fully funded scholarship is envisaged to eliminate financial barriers that hinder access to quality education to meritorious students. It covers 100% annual fees over the duration of the course, including meal & accommodation charges. A laptop will also be provided to all Bharti Scholars in the first year.

Scholarship with a Difference
- Scholarship are for the full duration of the U.G courses including integrated courses for up to 5 years (subject to meeting the renewal criteria)
- Scholarship covers 100% of annual fees as per the fee structure of the respective institute.*
- The hostel and mess fees shall be given to all selected scholars who apply for it.
- For scholars staying in PG/outside hostel, the support shall be extended as per the hostel/mess charges of the institute
- A provision of laptop for all Bharti Scholars (responsibility for the safety/security will be with the student. No replacements will be provided)
- Once the Bharti Scholars graduate & are subsequently gainfully employed, they will undertake to voluntarily extend financial support to at least one student at a school or college level at any point of time, to the extent they can.
** Refundable and security deposits are not covered under the Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program. Students are responsible for these payments and their refunds
Eligibility
- Confirmed admission in the first year (starting with the 2024 cohort) of the UG/5 year integrated courses in fields of Electronics & Communication, Telecom, Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Data Sciences, Aerospace and Emerging Technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Robotics) at the top 50 NIRF Engineering universities/institutes (Basis the lastest list available).
- Must be a citizen and resident of India
- Family annual income from all sources should not exceed INR 8.5 Lakh
- Applicants should not be recipients of any other scholarships or grants for the same purposes supported by the Bharti Airtel Foundation.
NOTE:
- Girl students are encouraged to apply.
Selection Criteria
The selection of the candidates will be based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria and assessment parameters as established by Bharti Airtel Foundation.
