Six-week programme to focus on integrating ethical values into classroom teaching; introductory session scheduled for November 7
New Delhi: Education is not merely about imparting academic knowledge and modern skills; it must also foster moral awareness, a sense of responsibility, compassion and good character among students. With this objective, Holistic Education Trust has announced a six-week online certificate course titled Values Internalisation for teachers. The programme will feature sessions led by eminent resource persons.
One of the key challenges facing educational institutions today is to equip students not only with academic competence and professional skills but also with ethical values, a sense of responsibility and social awareness. Merely teaching students about moral values is not enough; these values need to become an integral part of their thinking, behaviour and everyday lives. This process is known as values internalisation.
Teachers play a crucial role in this process. Beyond imparting knowledge, their conduct, interaction with students and the classroom environment can significantly shape children’s personalities. Equipping teachers to integrate values effectively into the teaching process is, therefore, an important educational priority. The proposed course will focus on practical ways to make values an integral part of students’ development through everyday classroom teaching.
The key topics will include values internalisation, 21st-century skills, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and practical classroom activities. The programme aims to familiarise teachers with approaches they can apply in their day-to-day teaching.
An online introductory session will be held on November 7, 2026, from 7 pm to 8 pm via Google Meet. It will introduce participants to the course objectives, key themes and relevance to teachers.
The six-week programme is open to teachers and education professionals working from pre-school to Grade 12. It is scheduled to begin in the first week of December 2026, with all sessions conducted online. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate, along with a special booklet.
The initiative aims to equip teachers with educational concepts and practical approaches that can help make education a means of moral and social development, rather than limiting it to academic achievement. Integrating values into everyday teaching and the wider school environment can contribute to the development of responsible individuals and a more conscientious society.
The last date for registration is November 25, 2026. For further information and registration, interested teachers may contact Course Coordinator Mr. Zafarul Haq at 8103219232.
