New Delhi, 30 Dec 2003: Jamaat-e-Islami’s department of education organized an educational
conference for educational authorities including head masters and managers etc in Hyderabad
from 25-29 th December, 2003.
The objective of organizing the conference was promotion of education, establishment and
management of educational institutions, providing guidance to people associated with the
management and administration of educational institutions and exchange of their mutual
experiments and ideas for alleviating the educational problems of muslim community.
People associated with the management and administration of such institutions in Kerala, Tamil
Nadu, Andoman and Nicobar island, Karnataka, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa,
West Bengal and Assam were participated in this conference.
Jb. Mohammad Jafar, secretary general of JIH said in his presidential address that muslim
community is going through many problems. Among these, the educational backwardness, lack
of able individuals and resources are prominent one.
We all have to strive for to solve the issues of muslim,” he emphasized.
He expressed happiness over awareness among muslim community to impart modern as well
as Islamic teachings. He also expressed his concern on changes of syllabus books especially
Indian history books so that muslim community may lose their history and identity. Lastly, he
emphasized on importance of establishment of such institutions where the best modern as well
Islamic teachings can be given to students.
On this occasion, the vice president of JIH, Janab Syed Jalaluddin Umri sb said that the teachers
should bring students closer to nature while teaching. He also stressed on giving moral
education to children.
Janab Mohammad Ashfaque, secretary, dept. of education said that there is lack of educated
and trained teachers. He also said about lack of willingness of required level of sacrifice among
few talented and educated teachers. There is also need to pay attention on teachers’ personal
and family problems.
He said that the preparation is going on to release news bulletin both in English and Urdu
languages for the purpose of guidance of educational institutions and their inter connection.
Janab Syed Ghulam Akbar, Secretary, JIH said that saffronisation of education is not new and
for this the one reason is there is not any common voice for our educational institutions. He
gave proposal that there should be a joint educational form of muslim community.

Jb Syed Abdul Basit Anwar, Ameer-e-Halqa, Jamaat-e-Islami Andhra Pradesh and Orissa said
that there is great importance of educational institutions. Dr. salman Abid expressed his views
on educational and vocational guidance and explained on career counseling.
Professor Yasin Ashraf Farooq of college Kerala said that we have greater need than limited
resources. Lastly he said, “We should have main purpose, Resources and planning at hand
before starting any educational institution.”
Janab Major Shahabuddin president, dept. of history and principal Islamia College and engineer
Saadtullah Hussaini former president of SIO also addressed the conference.
The headmasters and managers came from several states presented their views and proposals.
Later Janab Abdul Malik Daoodi thanked all the participants and Maulana Abdul Aziz prayed at
the end of the conference.
